Borderlands

SUMMARY:

Borderlands (Oct 2009) is a good FPS (First Person Shooter) with RPG (Role-Playing), character-leveling  elements. Located on the planet of Pandora, a desert waste land with small run-down human occupied settlements, Borderlands takes place in a what looks like a post apocalyptic world.

Its strength is shooting, lots of shooting, lots of gear and weapons, some with nifty arcane effects like fire, explosions, acid, electricity. The action takes place in a beautifully rendered environment. However if you are looking for traditional RPG class elements, class differentiation is poor or non-tradional RPG. Any class can equip any piece of gear. Class differentiation consists of class related skills that are developed as the player levels. These skills can seem very similar such as healing, providing ammo, or increasing attack strength. If you enjoy a wide variety of gear and weapons and lots of shooting, and can overlook the repetitious nature of most quests (activate items + kill things), you'll find the game enjoyable. And it is highly rated for coop game-play! -Huntn.
